JTDMH offers a comprehensive occupational health program and is very pleased to have Dr. Juan Torres on staff as our Medical Director. Dr. Torres completed his residency in general preventive medicine and public health at Walter Reed Institute of Research in Washington, D.C. and has a Graduate Degree in Public Health from John Hopkins School of Hygiene and Public Health in Baltimore, MD. He has 20 years of experience, including service with the United States Military, the Federal Government, private industry and business. Dr. Torres is a Certified Professional Supervisor (CPS/A) of Audiometric Monitoring of Hearing Conservation Programs, and has been serving the local employers for more than seven years.

During clinic hours, injury care is provided in the Occupational Health Clinic. Injury care for those times outside of normal clinic hours is available through the Emergency Department, which is open 24 hours, seven days a week, or if minor acute injury or work related illness, in the JTDMH Urgent Care located in the Outpatient Center  next to the Emergency Center. Scheduled appointments are required for physicals, injury follow-up care and drug screens. Walk-ins are accepted for injury care, post accident, random and reasonable suspicion drug and BAT screens. Photo ID is required for drug and BAT testing.
